There are may causes to a "dead battery" in your car or truck. Most go bad simply by age. Most batteries last 5 years. You should have your "battery tested" at least with every time you have an "oil change". A battery can show signs of getting weak, or simply just fail. Other causes could be damage to the battery caused by over charging by the alternator. So when your Ford, Honda, Toyota or Chevrolet shows signs of "slow cranking" or "no start" have your "charging system check" done.

"Brake Safety Awareness Month" is in August. But since we are thinking about it, lets discuss brakes. Your brakes should be checked at least every other oil change which is when your tires should be rotated. The other signs would be "brakes squealing" or any other "brake noise" or "brake shutter". Stopping is not over rated. We need to stop our vehicles and brakes are the most important component in stopping. So no matter what brand vehicle you drive, Ford, Honda, Chevrolet, Hyundai, Kia or Toyota, you need to have your brakes checked.
